Who I Am
Hi, I’m Lisa Clarke. For more than three decades, I’ve been on the front lines of parent leadership—serving in PTAs, parent-teacher organizations, and community advocacy roles. My journey began as a volunteer parent, determined to make sure every child—mine and yours—had a voice in their education.
Over the years, I’ve served as President of the Essex County PTA, a Parent Coordinator for urban school districts, and a leader at the state level, where I worked tirelessly to amplify parent voices and improve collaboration between families, educators, and communities.
Today, through Lisa Clarke Speaks, I help parents step into leadership with confidence, educators engage families more effectively, and communities work together to ensure equitable opportunities for every child.
My Mission
My mission is simple but powerful:
To empower parents to become confident advocates, bridge the gap between families and schools, and inspire community collaboration that leads to lasting change for children everywhere.
My Story
I didn’t set out to become a parent advocate—I simply wanted my own children to have the best possible experience in school. What began as volunteering in classrooms and organizing bake sales grew into something bigger: leading parent groups, training fellow parents, and building partnerships with educators who were eager to listen.
Over the years, I’ve:
Guided hundreds of parent leaders through training and mentorship.
Advocated for stronger, more inclusive parent involvement policies.
Created practical resources and toolkits that help parents lead effectively.
Spoken at conferences and workshops about building partnerships that put children first.
My story isn’t just about me—it’s about every parent who’s ever wondered, “Do I really have a say?” The answer is yes. And I’m here to help you find that voice.
